Spanish, including call letters pronounced in Spanish, ``LV de nuestra
comunidad``. CH is considered a single letter in Spanish following
plain old C in its alfabet, but instead of ``che-ache-a`` it was

or maybe buried JBM. 11760 at 1537, S7/S9 of clear dead air. SAWA

** CUBA. 11880, Feb 6 at 0726, S5/S7 of dead air, presumably RHC, a
frequency of theirs much earlier, and nothing else listed now. Gotta
run at least one transmitter pointlessly into the night. Something`s
always wrong at RHC. Standard remark about how the cost of all that
wasted juice could better be applied to improving the diet of
undernourished Cubans (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Feb 7 at 0712, JBA carrier, likely RHC; also JBACs on
15300, 15350; and 15770 which means WRMI is barely propagating, so
Cuba could too. Then at 0722, S9+25 of DA on 11760, or is it JBM? Has
to be RHC, and even more so at 0725 on 9710, S9+25 of deadair. At
1549, 15140 with S8/S9 of windhowl. At 2007 into Georgia SDR, only
15140 windhowl S9/+25, makes neat symmetrical patterns on the
waterfall. Somethings always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Feb 9 at 0457, windhowl only at S9+40 from RHC, SAWA,
no other frequencies found (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Feb 10 at 2258, RHC S9+20/30 of windhowl; 11880 clean
deadair at 2318, S9+10/20. No 15 MHz, but 13650 CRI music instead of
Portuguese is on. Somethings always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** CUBA. 11760, Feb 11 at 1544, RHC Spanish and music S9+20; // 15230

about Cuban history, but audio craps out and stix and repeats briefly,
then OK. Since R. República is not scheduled now, I ponder whether RHC
could have been smart enough to move onto its frequency? Naaah, too
busy broadcasting S9+20/30 of dead air on 9710; and S9+20 of windhowl
only on 11760; while 6000 is off. Back on 9490 at 0358, ``La Cuba que
Perdida[?]``. R. República ID with websites, and SW sked as: lunes a
jueves 9-10 pm, viernes a domingo 9-11 pm; and cut off at 0359* UT.
Translated from EST to UT days and times: Tue-Fri 02-03, Sat-Mon
02-04. WRMI skedgrid at the very end shows relays via Issoudun,
France, as of B24?! including R. República, at 02-03 UT on 9490 on
Sat/Sun/Mon only! Now what will happen March 8 with the imposition of
foolish DST in USA and consequently in the Running Dog of Yankee
Imperialism? Everything one UT hour earlier? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ECUADOR. 6050, Feb 10 at 0800, surprised to hear Spanish at this
hour, mentions Pichincha and an FM frequency, then preaching. Must be
HCJB, which is normally OFF between 0500 and 0923, or Tue-Sat between
0235-0925 or so. Pichincha is Quito`s province, and if you hunt for it
on page 215, WRTH 2026 shows HCJB on 89.3; long gone from MW 690

** ECUADOR. 6050, Feb 11 at 0739, S8/S9 of Spanish; must be HCJB again

** MALAYSIA. 11885, Feb 5 at 1538, JBA talk S4/S5, maybe RTM
reactivated on SW; this and 15295 have been widely reported in the WOR
iog, schedules uncertain. Not yet in EiBi or Aoki, lots of Vietnam and
China on 11885 but open at this hour. As I pointed out, 11890 was
completely unused. EiBi does show 15290/15295 as testing 2200/1400

** MALAYSIA. 11885, Feb 8 circa 1530 JBA signal direct; at 1618 into
KFS NW antenna, S9+15 distorted music and 1620 Indonesian? = Malay
talk, mentions UNESCO, certainly not Vietnam in English as scheduled.
More music. Further test of new transmitter. Zach Liangas reported at
1637: ``Corr Rtm network feed change -- Heard now 16+ z the feeds are
now changed to 11885 $abah v FM and 15295 Nasional FM. The *11885* khz
feed was a bit garbled with strong signal on the SW Au kSDR and
partially with low audio. !!Stop missing the forest for the trees,
Zacharias Liangas, Radio worker`` More of my monitoring thru KFS: 1700
``don`t be greedy`` PSA in English, ID as Sabah V FM, 92.7 in Kota
Kinabalu, ``experience variety``. Not sure of the word/letter between
Sabah and FM, but WRTH 2026 page 336 shows 92.7 in K.K. as Sabah VFM.
1755 UT still going long after local midnight, songs, 1759 PSA about

** NEW ZEALAND. 13755, Sat Feb 7 at 0714, S9/+20 ``Going Home``
soprano, song to the tune from Dvořák`s New World Symphony. Rare to
hear anything nearly classical on RNZP. Ends at 0719 but no
back-announcement and into non-classical. It`s the request show
allowing that to happen: ``8:08 PM. Saturday Night -- Saturday nights
on RNZ National is where Paul Brennan plays the songs YOU want to
hear. All music from 7 till midnight (RNZ)`` -

direct. Strangely enough, no reports of this in HFU, rather nothing
after WDOG on 6925 USB from 0047 to 0134*. Also an open carrier on

** NORTH AMERICA. 9025 AM, Fri Feb 6 at 1550, listening via IL remote,
no signal, but cuts on S5/S7 at *1553 ``presidential pirate`` with JFK
inaugural speech JIP. Previous logs have been a few minutes before
1600; maybe this is on more often, last caught Feb 4. And he`s cut off
the air at 1558*. I let it run past 1619 in case it cut back on but
not --- until *1639 back to JFK JIP, gone again after a few minutes.
*1654-1658* on again with fragment of JFK. Apparently from old
documentaries; again at *1711-1713* bit of FDR announced as from 1936.
*1728-1730* another bit, different voice, ``so help me god`` - an oath
of office. *1739.5 back on with a bit of JFK, soon off. Well, that`s
enough of that. These bits certainly do not do justice to significant
